What is Engaged Encounter?

The Engaged Encounter is a weekend experience where couples planning marriage have the time to concentrate on each other, free from the tensions, pressures, and interruptions of daily life.

It is designed to give couples an opportunity to talk deeply about their future life together.  Self-identity, role expectations, money, sex, children, and family are discussed. A vital part of the weekend is learning better communication skills.

 Engaged Encounter (CEE) is an in-depth, private, personal, marriage preparation experience within the context of Catholic faith and values. Team couples share their experiences throughout the weekend.  This is a weekend retreat away with other engaged couples with plenty of alone time together to dialogue honestly and intensively about their future lives together-- their strengths and weaknesses, desires, ambitions, goals, their attitudes about money, sex, children, family, their role in the church and society--in a face to face way. The weekend is open to any engaged couple wanting to prepare for a deeper, more meaningful life together in a marriage recognized by the Catholic Church. The weekend begins Saturdays at 8:00 am and goes through noon Sunday. Guests will share a semi-private room. Meals are included. Mass is Saturday afternoon.
