All Catholics in the Diocese of Amarillo are invited to participate in a Pre-Advent Retreat that will be offered in all four deaneries of the Diocese of Amarillo Friday, Nov. 14 through Sunday, Nov. 16.
The theme of the Pre-Advent Retreats is Living the Beatitudes, based on the Beatitudes in the Gospel of St. Luke. The retreats are provided as part of RENEW International?s Why Catholic?/¿Por qué ser católico? process. The retreat will be offered in both English and Spanish in all four deaneries.
?The theme of these retreats is based on the Beatitudes shared in accordance with Catholic Social Teaching and presents how people can connect teachings on morality and justice with everyday life,? said Anne Scanlan, a member of RENEW International?s Pastoral Services Team, who will direct the retreats in English. ?This retreat will delve into how people can live in a moral and prayerful way by exploring the Gospel.?
Manuel Hernandez from RENEW International, will direct the Spanish retreat sessions, entitled Viviendo las Bienaventuranzas.
Sessions will be offered in English and Spanish on:
? Friday, Nov. 14 at 6:30pm for the Central Deanery at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4100 South Coulter, Amarillo;
? Saturday, Nov. 15 at 9:00am for the North Deanery at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 1000 Maddox, Dumas;
